With the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, traveling now comes with a few additional challenges. Take note of the following information before boarding your flight to Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge:

• Before you book a flight, check if any travel bans or restrictions apply — in both your origin and destination. Stay informed with the latest updates by reviewing government travel advisories.
• Requirements state that you must wear a face mask at the airport, including at screening checkpoints. You should be prepared to adjust your mask for ID verification when asked.
• To reduce the likelihood of cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the reader yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA officer.
• You're allowed to take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your hand luggage. You'll need to remove it for screening.
• To reduce handling during screening, place personal items such as your belt, phone and wallet into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
• Separate any food you're carrying for screening. Food items often set off the alarm. Placing them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA agent to touch and inspect your belongings.
